Ed McIntyre, Graduate Civil Engineer, Environment Agency

I am originally from Derbyshire and studied Civil Engineering at Newcastle University. I graduated in 2020 with a master’s degree during which I worked as an intern for a façade engineering company.

Since graduating I’ve worked for Natural England in the planning consultations hub before joining the Environment Agency’s graduate engineering programme in October 2021.

My time at the Environment Agency so far has been in the Partnerships and Strategic Overview Team in the Wessex Area working on permitting and planning applications.

I strongly believe cross border collaboration, lateral thinking and sharing knowledge are incredibly powerful tools to combat climate change. Being involved in PACCo is therefore a great opportunity for me to positively contribute to the adaptation of the ever-changing environment threatening our estuarine areas.
